Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #2

These days, I'm loving participating in these wonderful color challenges! :-) I may have to look into a 12-step program soon! {wink} It all started with Kristina Werner's weekly color challenges and now Dawn McVey is hosting her own challenges. This is Dawn's 2nd color challenge and I especially love the teal and celery color combination. Here's the hi card I made today.

The inspiration for my card came from the card pictured below by Dana Grothaus. I encountered this beautiful card awhile back while perusing entries for one of Kristina Werner's Color Challenges. A picture of it has been tacked to my inspiration board ever since! Dana is a gifted paper crafter with a blog filled with projects that will inspire you! I just signed up to receive her blog by e-mail and you can, too. Check it out HERE.

I don't actually own a die cut machine, so I'm thankful to my cousin, Tina, for letting me use her die cutter and die to cut out about ten SU! Top Notes. I can't wait to incorporate the other ones into future projects!

To create the three-layered flower, I used a brown SU! felt flower, along with two flowers cut using my Cricut and the George cartridge.

And to draw attention to the hi sentiment, I chose to adhere a piece of Papertrey polka dot ribbon under the piece of the polka dot paper. Originally, I wanted to place it under the teal layer, but I'd already adhered the teal piece to the white card base. I hate when I accidentally glue something down and realize--oops--I didn't want to do that!

{supplies}
SU! white & brown cardstock
DCWV textured cardstock (teal & celery)
Papertrey Bitty Dot Basics
American Crafts adhesive letters
Papertrey ribbon
SU! felt flower
Michael's white button

Thanks, Dawn, for another great challenge! Hope your husband's recovery continues to go well!
