1.1.10
Happy New Year!
(I have to make this post short because we are about to board our cruise ship. It's actually 1.2.10, but let's pretend it's yesterday, okay?! Plus, Brian would like his phone back one of these days; I've pretty much hijacked it!)
Since we stayed up until 2:00 a.m. celebrating the New Year, we didn't roll out of bed until 9:45 a.m., just in time to take advantage of the free hotel breakfast. Then, it was back to bed for a few more hours. Well, I was the real slug. While I got some more beauty sleep, Brian played on his phone and watched football.
After showering and dressing, we ventured out to a nearby mall. Bad idea! How was I to know that New Year's Day is one of the busiest shopping days of the year! Boy, do Floridians know how to shop! It took over 20 minutes to find parking, but once inside the mall we were rewarded with fantastic deals. We hit the Gap and Loft (both were offering 40% off of already-reduced sale items) and then made a run for our car because it was pouring down rain. Next up, we were off to Miami. Along the way, Brian and I couldn't resist singing "We're going to Miami..." by Will Smith. Ha-ha!
And as we were driving along in Miami Beach, we caught sight of a beautiful rainbow in the sky just above the ocean. Rainbows make me grin!
Here's a picture of us on the beach just a few minutes later as the rainbow slowly began to fade away.
As we've traveled around Florida these past few days, it has been so helpful to have a GPS application called Motion X on Brian's phone. It was only 99 cents to download and came with a free 30-day subscription to the voice directions. We've used it everyday we've been here, and it has eliminated any arguments we might have had in the car making our way from place to place. Well worth the money spent!
Hope your New Year is off to a peaceful start!
Hugs,
J
P.S. Happy Birthday, Grammie!
