Dawn McVey's Color Challenge #3

My camera was out of commission until literally five minutes ago, which explains why I'm just now posting my card for Dawn McVey's third color challenge. Talk about coming in under the wire! :-)

BTW, a {big} thanks to the kind and patient rep at Nikon for helping me to reset my camera...apparently it was just a little glitch that sometimes occurs in D90 cameras. I'm just so glad it wasn't something I did!

Just a few notes on this card:
1) Not only did I stamp the expectant mom on the white cardstock, but I also stamped her on the red and white polka dot Papertrey paper. Then, I ever-so-carefully cut out just the dress and glued it to the white cardstock. Too fun!

2) I just realized that I used white cardstock instead of vanilla. Oops! The vanilla dot (below) doesn't show up very well on my monitor, so I think I went with white because all of the dots are surrounded by it.

3) Chocolate brown wasn't part of the mix, but I felt like I needed an additional color to mat the brown stamped image.

4) I don't own an oval scallop punch, so I pulled out my old-school scallop scissors (which I haven't used in forever) and cut around the white oval. It's not perfect, but close enough.

5) When I had finished the main panel of the card, but not yet adhered it to the kraft cardstock, I decided it needed just a little something more. It was too clean-cut, too straight-laced, too I roughed up the edges with my scissors, inked the kraft cardstock with brown ink, and placed the main panel on the kraft cardstock using foam dimensionals. Better!

Cardstock: Papertrey; Stampin' Up! (kraft, white, and brown)
Patterned paper: Papertrey
Ribbon: Papertrey
Sticker letters: Making Memories
Stamps: A Muse Artstamps (Expectant Mom); Stampin' Up! (happy)
