Celebrating Moms

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers out there!

Seeing as we're currently out-of-town, we won't be able to celebrate with our moms today. But we want them to know that we are thinking of them and hoping they have a wonderful day!

I made two Mother's Day cards this year and thought I would share them with you. (Well, I really made three cards, but Brian bought a card for his mom right before we left on vacation--which I thought was so sweet--so I'll save the one I made for her for next year.)


I made this remember this card for my sister, Nichole. (Don't you just love those baby rolls?!) Several months back, I was searching through our guest room closet and discovered this picture of McKayla as an infant. The picture was in a plastic ziplock freezer bag, along with a few other snapshots and the yellow cardstock and floral paper you now see on the card. I had hoped to scrapbook this picture and a few others of her around the same age, but just never got around to it. Instead of placing the pictures in a box and moving on, I decided to craft a card.

Normally, I try to list the supplies I used in a card, but since many of these supplies are super old, I have no idea where I bought them. Probably one of the scrapbooking stores which has sadly gone out of business over the last few years. Here's what I know for sure...the rub-on is by Making Memories (they have the best rub-ons!), the berry cardstock and ribbon are by Papertrey, and the vellum is from Stampin' Up!

I'm hoping it brings a smile to my sister's face! :-)


And for my own mom, I created a simple, but fun card using epoxy dome embellishments from K & Company. These eight expressive words by Amy Butler perfectly describe my mom: loyal, confident, happy, creative, smart, feisty, wonder-full, and optimistic.


Aren't I lucky?! You better believe it! And not only do I have a fabulous mom, but I also have an awesome mother-in-law, too. :-)
