Working on...
building series and parallel circuits for my fourth grade class using wires, batteries and flashlight bulbs. I've never, ever built circuits before, so I figured I better give it a shot before I have to teach my kiddos. So far, it's not nearly as difficult as I thought it would be. I guess if a 4th grader can do it, I should be able to! LOL
Studying...
photography.
Here are some pictures I took at a party this weekend.
This is Jason's wife, Stefanie holding their friend's 1-month-old baby. (Check it out--the baby is sporting a faux hawk/fohawk!)
Love this "deer in the headlights" look...and the double chin just makes me grin! :-)
Here's another cute moment from the shindig. This is Gavin. He's part three-year-old, part dog. Just kidding! He followed Mike and Kathleen's dog through the dog door, into the house and back out again. Kaylie, the dog, thought she could steal away for a moment to enjoy some quiet time, but Gavin had other plans. :-)
Missing...
my niece, McKayla...
and my sisters.
A month has passed since they were in town and I'm already looking forward to seeing them at Christmas.
Watching...
The Sound of Music (with my hubby who has NEVER seen it before!)
I adore this movie and I must say, it is so much more fun watching it now that I've visited Salzburg, Austria and taken the SOM tour. As we viewed the movie, my excitement grew each time we saw the characters in a location I recognized...like walking down the concrete steps at Mirabell Gardens or riding their bikes over one of the Salzach River bridges or standing on the back patio of the Von Trapp mansion. Not to mention the infamous "I am 16 going on 17" gazebo!
Reading...
Nicholas Sparks' new novel, The Last Song, at home
&
Judy Blume's Superfudge at school.
(I just finished reading Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. What a funny book! In fact, my kiddos loved it so much that they asked me to read the sequel, Superfudge--and of course, I couldn't say no!)
Giving thanks for...
a roof over my head, food to eat, a good job, a loving husband, excellent family and friends, two Labs named Rudy and Lucy, and my health.
