The Adoption Process | Right Now

Last week, I wrote a blog post in which I shared that Brian and I are hoping to adopt again.

Many of our friends and family members posted Facebook comments and sent email messages to us expressing their excitement, lending their support, and offering to pray for us.

I was (and still am) grateful and thankful for all of their kind words.

After perusing the comments and then reading them out loud to Brian, I printed them and placed the pages in our adoption binder.

I know there will be at least a few tough days ahead, where it will do me good to reread those sweet messages and be reminded of all the people who are pulling for us.

As we've shared our desire to adopt with close friends and family, many of them have had questions.

The top three questions have been:

1 | Do you want a girl? Yes, we are searching for a baby girl to complete our family.

2 | What's the process like? Last year, I wrote a blog post about how to begin the domestic adoption process.

3 | Where are you in the process? Below is a look at what we've completed and what we still have to do.

1 | Our Home Study: We're super excited that our HOME STUDY has been completed! We loved working with Audrey Leonard from The Family Network again, and she did a great job!

2 | Hiring an Adoption Attorney: Last month, we retained Jan Chamerat, an adoption attorney, who will aid us in searching for a birth mother. Jan helped us with Noah's adoption in 2012.

1 | Create an Adoption Profile Book: I've ordered our adoption profile books from Mixbook. (I'll share photos here once they arrive!)

2 | Set up an Adoption Website: I'm in the process of creating a free Wix website, and I'll share the link when it is completed.

Thank you again for your prayers and positive thoughts as we navigate the adoption process for the second time.

Hello, Jennie!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! According to your profile we have a number of things in common!
Adoption is one of those things since I was adopted as a baby! I will join in praying that the Lord will lead you to your daughter! :o)
