Last year, I submitted four greeting cards--but didn't tell anyone (except Brian) that they were going to be on display at the Fair--and wound up winning a 2nd place award, a 3rd place award, plus two awards of merit. And I received some loot, too, which helped to buy more crafting supplies....schweet! While I was certainly grateful for the ribbons and money, the best part of it all was seeing my cards on display at the Fair! :-)
So this year, I'm back at it again submitting four greeting cards and just for kicks, a 2-page 12 x 12 scrapbooking layout.

Card Crafting Contest
Entry Deadline Date: June 5th by 4:30 p.m.
(ONLY the paperwork is due by this date! The actual crafted items don't have to be to the State Fair until July 10th.)
Entry Fee: $7 per entry
Card Categories: 1) Wedding 2) Birthday 3) Thinking of You 4) Any Other Type of Card
Shipped Information: Entries must arrive at the California State Fair grounds by July 10, 2009. (Or you can hand deliver your items on July 10th or 11th.)
Entry Requirements:
*All cards must be handmade
*no computer generated cards
*size limit is 5 x 7
First place: $30 cash award and ribbon
Second place: $25 cash award and ribbon
Third place: $20 cash award and ribbon
Award of Merit: ribbon only (up to 5 in each class)

This year, the State Fair will be open from August 21st through September 7th. And you better believe, Brian and I will be in attendance! I just love visiting the animals (especially my favorite pygmy goats), viewing all of the fantastic crafted items on display, and feasting on a yummy corndog from Hotdog on a Stick. Aww...fried food...yum! :-)
Since I don't know whether my cards and layout will be on display at the Fair, I'll be featuring them here on my blog-o come Opening Day (August 21st). In the meantime, happy crafting!
