DM's Color Challenge #12

Here's the card I created for Dawn McVey's Color Challenge #12.

As you'll recall, last week I made 15 For the Bride cards. I loved the way they turned out, so I decided to make a similar card for this color challenge. I used the same basic design, but felt like it needed to be kicked up a notch! So, I grabbed my Zig 2-way glue pen and ran it over the embossed swirls in the dress. Then, I sprinkled glitter on the gown, tapping off the excess. Next, I created a handmade distressed flower using red and pink card stock. (Click HERE for Dawn's fabulous tutorial on how to make distressed flower embellishments.) In the middle of the flower, I placed a green button tied with cream thread. The sentiment, For The Bride, was printed in dark red ink using my home printer. And to bring in some additional pink, I added a second scalloped layer to the bottom of the dress.

I'm very pleased with the end result--a fun and elegant card! To see what other crafters have made, click HERE. Many thanks to Dawn for another great challenge!

{supplies}
card stock: Stampin' Up! & Papertrey
ribbon: who knows?! (I found it in my scraps jar.)
button: Michael's stores
thread: DMC (cream)
punch: SU! scallop edge
sentiment: computer-generated
glitter: Hero Arts
glue: Zig Memory System 2 way glue stick
misc: Cuttlebug & embossing folder (Divine Swirls)

What a beautiful card for a bride! I love the simplicity of it. The swirls, the flower, the pink edge -- it's all great!

This is super cute. Might have to case it for a shower I'm going to in couple weeks!

This is great! I love the sway you glittered up your background! I'll have to get me one of those glue pens! Can you pick those up at a local craft store?
