Won't You Be My Neighbor?

Last week, I took a Visa gift card that my sister and niece gave me for my birthday and purchased a book I've wanted for awhile now. (Thanks, Nik and Kayla!)

The World According to Mister Rogers by Fred Rogers is a great read. It's filled with Mister Rogers' writings and songs.

I remember watching Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood as a child. I loved how Mr. Rogers put on his zippered, red cardigan sweater and sneakers each morning. How he sang delightful songs and seemed to really care about kids and people in general. He was a wonderful educator who successfully used the talents God gave him to make a {huge} difference in our world.

Here's one of the quotes from Mister Rogers' book that resonated with me:

To me, what makes someone successful is managing a healthy combination of wishing and doing. Wishing doesn't make anything happen, but it certainly can be the start of some important happenings. I hope you'll feel good enough about yourself, your yesterdays and your today, that you'll continue to wish and dream all you can. And that you'll do all you can to help the best of your wishes come true.
I'm proud of you for all the wishing and doing that has helped you get to this point in your lives, and I hope you are, too.

Hope you have a terrific Tuesday!
