For Today: October 4, 2010

I love this simple documentation idea from The Simple Woman's Daybook via Ali Edwards' blog:

FOR TODAY
October 4, 2010

Outside my workshop window...a doe is foraging for supper.

I am thinking...about how I'd like to paint/tile/decorate our master bathroom.

I am thankful for...friends, family, and my car. Oh, and gasoline, too. :-)

I am wearing...pajama pants, a t-shirt and a sweatshirt. Fall is definitely here!

I am creating...a scrapbook layout to document the 9-11 climb that Brian participated in last month.

We are going...to Notre Dame on November 10th!!!

I am reading...Leah's Choice by Marta Perry. The Amish culture fascinates me.

I am still hoping...that our librarian and health assistant will be rehired.

I am hearing...our "heirloom" cuckoo clock ticking in the kitchen and Pandora is blasting an Eric Church song on my computer.

Around the house...it's pretty mellow. The dogs' tummies are full, and both pooches are passed out asleep on the carpet.

One of my favorite things...is shopping in thrift stores. We drove by two secondhand shops in Auburn recently and I can't wait to go back (by myself) and check them out.

A few plans for the rest of the week...working (with a half-day of EL training on Friday), running on the treadmill (trying to get ready for the Four Bridges Half Marathon Relay on 10/31), hair trim/highlight on Saturday morning, followed by a 30-minute photo session with Brian and photographer Mindy.

A few pictures to share...

...from our day trip to Coloma two weeks ago.

Monument to James Marshall, who discovered gold in Coloma in 1848.

A lizard we encountered during our hike. (Brian captured this creature especially for our favorite godson, Tyler.)

The schoolhouse

An old stagecoach in the park's museum. (The gift shop has many fun treasures, too.)
